Masculine & Feminine

When most people think of the contrast between masculine and feminine they think of men and women and the characteristics that they have, or that have been assigned to them by their culture. However, when it comes to us as individuals on a voyage of Self discovery, we each have both masculine and feminine aspects of our psyche, our spirit and our body.  One well known example of this is our right and left hemispheres of the brain.  The right side being creative, artistic, and receptive is the feminine aspect.  And the left side with it's logic, organization and goal oriented nature is our masculine aspect.

From a Spiritual perspective, at its very core, the masculine within each of us is the observer; the witness.  Our masculine aspect is responsible for awareness.

On the other hand the feminine, at its core, is the part that is responsible for sensation; the one who feels.  Our feminine aspect is responsible for experiencing life.

Both of these aspects have many more attributes that we could name.  In the end, each of us wants to be a fully operational being.  This means bringing both the masculine and feminine within us "on-line" and learning how they can eventually come into harmony with each other.

There is a tremendous amount of personal power and freedom that is discovered when a person starts to understand and cultivate these two aspects of themselves.  The profound nature of knowing our own "blue print" when it comes to these two aspects is one reason we give a lot of attention to this subject in our teaching and in transformational ceremony space.
